COURSE oVERVIEW
A Level Physical Education covers a wide range of exciting topics that give you an insight into the sporting possibilities at university and beyond. The course is a combination of exams, coursework, and practical assessment. You are required to be practically assessed in one competitive sporting situation.

Grade 4 in GCSE PE (if studied at school). A grade 4 in GCSE Science.

How will I be taught?
Facilitated student-led, self-paced learning. Lessons are interactive through the use of technology, experiments, and discovery. Topics are taught through a hands-on approach linking theoretical concepts to practical performance.
Teacher expertise
The teaching staff consists of two very experienced tutors who have helped the college achieve record-breaking results over recent years. Both tutors are examiners for the subject giving them an insight into the requirements and assessment of the course.

The course works closely with our 6Xtra programme and Sports Academies to record and assess the practical elements of the course.
Where does it lead?
An A level in PE places you in a great position to progress onto sport-related degrees, such as sport and exercise science, physiotherapy, strength and conditioning, and PE teaching. Although these degrees are course-specific, the skills you will learn during the course are beneficial when progressing onto any degree course; with the skills also being highly regarded by many employers, it positions you well for a range of careers.
