International applicant changes
Following a review of our international recruitment policies and procedures, the college has regrettably decided not to renew its visa sponsor licence and, as a result, will not be able to accept any applications from students who would require a visa to come to the UK to study. This change will take effect immediately so will apply to any application for entry to the college from September 2017 onwards.
In addition, the college will now only consider applications for Level 3 (A level equivalent) study if the student is willing to commit to a full 2- year study programme. This means that the college cannot consider an application from a student who wishes to enrol for one year only – perhaps in order to improve their English language skills. (The college’s A level and BTEC level 3 qualifications are now two-year courses.)
Finally, the college will no longer be able to offer any assistance in the search for host family or other accommodation. In cases where a student is re-locating to the Blackpool area to study, the responsibility for finding suitable accommodation will rest entirely with the student and his/her parent(s)/legal guardian(s).
