English GCSE Controlled Assessments 2016/17 schedule

Controlled assessment is a form of teacher-supervised internal assessment and is part of the GCSE qualification.  Controlled assessments are a required element of the GCSE qualification and students must complete 4 during the teaching year. Students will be informed in advance of their room location for each of the assessments. The controlled assessments make up 40% of the GCSE qualification marks.

The schedule for 2016/17 is as follows:

  • Wednesday 12th October 2016 – Dragon’s Den
  • Wednesday 30th November 2016 – A Christmas Carol
  • Wednesday 2nd February 2017 – Descriptive
  • Wednesday 15th March 2017 – Narrative (Story Writing)

Summer 2017 Examinations Schedule Information

Summer AS/A-Level Language Oral Examinations 2017

 Individual student timetables will be released via email to students on Friday 28th April 2017.

 

Summer AS/A-Level Examination Season 2017

  • Monday 15th May to Thursday 29th June 2017.
  • There are no examinations during the Whit half term holiday, Monday 28th May to Friday 2nd June 2017.

Individual Summer 2017 Student Examination Timetables will be released to students on Friday 28th April 2017.    

It is with regret that this release is now delayed until Tuesday 2nd May due to technical issues.  

 

Summer GCSE Examination Season 2017

Summer 2017 Examinations Results Information

Level 3 Results day is Thursday 17th August 2017 for the following:

  • AS and A-Level
  • Level 3 BTEC
  • Level 3 ifs
  • Level 3 Extended Project
  • Certificate Sports Leadership and Higher Sports Leadership

U6 students will be invited to collect their results on the morning. Times and the venue to be confirmed in the near future.  Examination staff will be available to deal with any exam queries and staff will be available to assist with any UCAS clearing queries.

L6 students will be able to access their results on the Student Portal on the morning and times will be confirmed in the near future. If there are any queries about results, students will be invited to come into college to speak to the Examinations staff.

L2 Results Day is Thursday 24th August 2017 for the following:

  • GCSE
  • Level 2 BTEC
  • Level 2 ifs

Students are invited to collect their results slips from Reception from 08:30 onwards. The results will also be made available on the Student Portal from 11:00 onwards.

Summer 2017 Examinations Post Results Information

AS/A-Level post results services for May/June 2017 results

These services will be available from results day. The Examinations team process the requests on the day of receipt as long as payment is received and the application form is signed and complete.

Enquiries about results

  • Priority Review of marking: A request to remark your examination script. This service should be used if you have a university place which depends on the result in question. Please be aware your mark could go up or down if re-marked. 

           Deadline: to be confirmed.

           (Outcome issued by the board within 18 calendar days of application submitted)

  • Review of marking: A request to re-mark your examination script. Please be aware that your mark could go up or down if re-marked

          Deadline: to be confirmed.

         (Outcome issued by the board within 30 calendar days of application submitted.)

  • Clerical Re-Check: A re-check of all clerical procedures. This service does not re-mark a script, but checks all of the administration processes relating to the script.

Access to Scripts

  • Photocopy Scripts: A priority service to receive a copy of your script and accompanied by a mark sheet to decide whether it is appropriate to apply for a re-mark of your examination script.

  • Original Scripts: Access to original script. Please be aware that if you request your original script you can not subsequently request a remark.

      Deadline: to be confirmed.

2017 Leavers certificate collection from Monday 27th November 2017

The 2017 – 2018 schedule for Mock Examinations is currently under review.

Provisional dates for Summer 2018 examination season Monday 14th May to Friday 29th June 2018 (subject to change).

Summer 2018 Level 3 results day is Thursday 16th August 2018 

Summer 2018 L2 Results Day is Thursday 23rd August 2018

Examination Office opening hours (term and holiday time) – We are open Monday to Friday 09:00am – 16:00pm. *The office is unavailable during the Christmas break and bank holidays. To see all the academic dates, please click here.
