The Blackpool Sixth Student Designing for Lewis Hamilton
The Blackpool Sixth Student Designing for Lewis Hamilton
At Blackpool Sixth, we’re always proud to highlight our students’ accomplishments, and we’re thrilled to shine the spotlight on Upper Sixth student, Alex Hargreaves. Alex, who is studying Triple BTEC in Fashion, Design, and Marketing, recently achieved a career-defining moment—designing a racing helmet for none other than F1 champion Sir Lewis Hamilton!
Alex’s design journey was inspired by a powerful message of self-love and the pursuit of one’s highest potential. Reflecting on his creative vision, Alex shared, “For my design, I was inspired by Sir Lewis Hamilton himself. I figured everyone needs to find their inner flame through positivity, and let that guide them on a path of self-love. Do what you want to do, do what makes you your highest self, and don’t let anyone or anything stand in your way.”
For Alex, the project was more than just about creating art; it was about expressing a philosophy. “There’s meaning behind my design—all pointing to being the best version of yourself and loving yourself unconditionally,” he explained. With his passion for fashion and illustration, Alex approached the project with a clear vision, striving to communicate the essence of self-love through each line and color choice. “My favourite part of the project,” Alex added, “was figuring out how to draw self-love on a racing helmet.”
Alex’s achievement is a testament to the incredible talent and dedication of our students here at Blackpool Sixth.
Congratulations to Alex on this amazing opportunity—we can’t wait to see where his creativity and passion take him next!
