Blackpool Sixth is located centrally between Blackpool and Poulton-le-Fylde. Our campus is approximately 10 minutes drive from Blackpool town centre and is 10 minutes walk from both Layton and Poulton train stations. Blackpool Sixth has been transformed with a £29 million development to our campus, which has created an outstanding learning environment for students. Fylde Coast Teaching School Alliance
Blackpool Sixth and Hodgson Academy were designated as one of the first 100 teaching schools, the partnership takes a national and regional lead in both shaping and delivering of training and professional development for current and future generations of teachers. Blackpool Sixth was the first college to have been given teaching school designation, former Principal and CEO of FCAT and FCTSA, Felicity Greeves, said: “Working with high quality graduates and educational leaders of the future will enable us to maintain and improve our teaching standards to the benefit of all our students.”
Our Alumni Network
Blackpool Sixth is an environment for students to learn, be inspired and develop mind and character in preparation for their futures. We take great pride in ensuring our students achieve great success during their studies with us, and with a focus on ‘building your future’ resulted in 86% of upper sixth students progressing onto university last year, with a further 13% securing an apprenticeship or employment with training.
