Bollywood dance gets Fylde youngsters fit

Dance students at Blackpool Sixth have been giving a bit of Bollywood glamour to youngsters across the Fylde coast.

The BTEC students have been delivering dance workshops to over 150 students as part of their work experience. Youngsters from Poulton St Chad’s, Strike Primary School, Freckleton and Hodgson High School took part in the dance sessions.

“School children have developed confidence, physical awareness, team building skills, leadership skills, spatial awareness, physical fitness and creativity,” said Lucinda Campbell, head of performing arts, music and media at Blackpool Sixth.

“Our dance students have planned, delivered and organised the workshops themselves, gaining valuable work experience and employability skills in teaching and dance instruction.

“If you would like your school to take part in a free workshop please get in touch!”
