Manchester based photographer inspires students
Manchester based photographer Andrew Brooks came to Blackpool Sixth on 18th October to speak to A Level Photography students.
Andrew spent the day showing students his work, his exhibitions and commissions and giving them tips for their forthcoming photography brief ‘Urban decay’.
Andrew gave insightful career advice to students and they asked some thought provoking questions about his work, how to be a freelance photographer and also about his techniques and editing styles.
Photography teacher Sabina Wray said “Andrew was inspirational and has enhanced the student knowledge of urban decay and opened their eyes to possibilities of lighting, locations, technique and editing styles. The students were really well informed and this will push them creatively. “
Andrew commented ” It has been great sharing my work and ideas with students at Blackpool Sixth. I had some really interesting questions from the students, they seemed really engaged with photography and keen to learn more to get their careers moving.”
