PANTO FUN FOR PRIMARY SCHOOLS

PANTO FUN FOR PRIMARY SCHOOLS

Performing Arts students entertained youngsters from primary schools across the Fylde coast with a festive panto, the Wizard of Oz, performed at the Blackpool Sixth’s theatre.

Pupils from Thornton Primary, St John’s Primary, Highfurlong School, Boundary Primary, Unity Academy and Park School visited the sixth form to watch Dorothy and friends travel the yellow brick road.

Two different casts performed in the show across two days and the students were assessed on their performances as part of their BTEC course.

Kerrie Halpin, performing arts teacher, said: “The panto was a great success and the two casts did a fantastic job entertaining the children and it really got everyone in the Christmas spirit.

“The performances were assessed as part of their BTEC course and it has given them a great experience of performing to a live audience.”
